Christian books bring blessing to growing churches in Cameroon
Alfred Chofong has been pastor of a growing church in Ndu in the North West Region of Cameroon. He is one of many Christian workers in Africa and Asia to benefit from grants of Christian books from Blythswood Care. Some books are second-hand, some are unsold stock from our charity shops and some are bought to meet a specific need.
Recently he emailed Ann Urquhart who manages Blythswood’s Christian literature grants to share the impact good books are having on the Christian community there:
“I want to let you know that the books you send to me are not only helpful for my own spiritual growth but they are bringing a lot of help to others, too. They have shaped my thoughts about God’s mission, especially biographies which show how others have served God, even in suffering. The commentary on Ephesians really helped me in applying my sermons as I was preaching though that book in the new church this year.
“On leaving the church plant I gave it to the new pastor as he was to complete preaching on Ephesians. It helped him too. I can’t explain the worth of all the books. It is a great blessing for a pastor to have a good library.”
