Update July 2021 – we’re open!

We are so glad that our offices, depots and all of our charity shops are now operational.

When you visit please continue to follow government guidelines – Hands, Face, Space.

We are pleased to receive your donations of clothes, shoes, bric-a-brac, books and other goods. They are vital as we continue our retail and recycle operation.

Thanks to the generosity of you – our supporters – we have been able to maintain most of our overseas projects as usual through the first half of 2021. And here at home our Foodbanks continue to operate in Alness, Aviemore, Dingwall, Inverness, Nairn, Tain and southeast Edinburgh.

Your support prevents people in crisis in our own communities from going hungry and makes a difference to vulnerable children and adults in Europe, Africa and Asia. You can read what your gifts are achieving in our Blythswood News. Thank you for supporting the work of Blythswood Care.

Our annual Shoe Box Appeal will be launched next month. We encourage you to participate again this year, as your precious gifts are so greatly appreciated!

“For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13

God has a plan for all of us and this verse from Jeremiah explains that perfectly. When we trust in this plan and seek God with all our heart, good things will happen.

COVID-19: March 2021

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians 4:6 NLT

Easier said than done, isn’t it? But it is practical advice. By laying out our concerns before God – and by taking time to give thanks for all the good things that HE has done – we can experience peace even in difficult times.

And we have many reasons to be thankful. Thanks to the ongoing generosity of Blythswood supporters like you we have been able to maintain our overseas projects as usual in January. You can read what your gifts are achieving here Blythswood News 75

We look forward to reopening our charity shops, depots and head office as soon as government regulations allow us to do so. Meanwhile we are working with the Charity Retail Association and Community Resources Network Scotland to produce common guidance regarding the reopening of charity shops.

Your donations of clothes, bric-a-brac and other goods will be important to restart our retail and recycle operation so please keep them for us until our shops reopen.

Blythswood’s Foodbanks continue to operate in Caithness, Tain, Alness, Dingwall, Inverness, Nairn, Aviemore and southeast Edinburgh. Your support prevents vulnerable people in our own communities from going hungry.

As some of our staff continue to work from home, you can contact us during normal office hours. Call 01349 830777 or email info@blythswod.org.
