COVID-19: Update – November 2020

“I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Psalm 27:13-14

We continue to pray that our staff at home and abroad, and volunteers and supporters will keep safe and well as another wave of the pandemic manifests itself. It is important to follow Government guidelines using PPE where appropriate and washing hands and maintaining social distancing measures.

Twenty of our shops in Scotland and our nine shops in Ireland remain open and trading well. We are grateful to the general public who have been very generous, supplying donations into our shops. Deephaven and Glasgow Depots are also open, with the sorting and warehouse teams working hard to process donations. Regular loads of recycling are also going out again.

Collections and delivering of furniture will remain contactless, from outside the customer or donor’s home at present.

Our foodbanks in Scotland and our overseas projects continue thanks to the sacrificial giving of our faithful supporters. Our Annual Shoe Box Appeal is well under way and all of the North of Scotland sorting is being undertaken at Unit 3, 33 Harbour Road, Inverness IV1 1UG. Please keep up-to-date through Blythswood Care’s website and Facebook pages on news of the other sort stations and collection points.

Please continue to pray with us for friends and colleagues at home and abroad who are unwell at this time.

We hugely appreciate your support as we continue our activities within current restrictions. We will give further update as matters progress.

May we all continue to trust in the Lord who is able to sustain us, through His faithfulness and love, in these challenging days.
