A good teacher never stops being a student. And Azariah, from Gujranwala, Pakistan, is both. He works as a trainer for Tameer, an organisation which provides training for people in leadership roles in the churches in Pakistan. There he develops modules to teach a degree course on biblical exegesis – how to explain the original text.

“There is a great need for this in Pakistan,” says Walter Waheed, who is himself a Pakistan teacher of theology.

“Without the commentaries and books on biblical background which Blythswood has provided this module could not have been developed.”

And at the same time, Azariah is studying for an MPhil in Old Testament exegesis. “The library we have here is very important to his own research, too,” says Walter. “The course which Azariah has developed is gaining more and more interest. Students are phoning us to take part as they can see and feel the need.”
