Maxim is glad that someone takes an interest in his life

Maxim is 13 and lives with his brother who is 20.  Their mother abandoned them several years ago when she went to another village to live with a new partner.  Their father they never knew.

Left to their own devices they shelter in a tumbledown house in their home village, well off the beaten track among the fields and woods of central Moldova.

Sometimes Maxim goes to school but still he is unable to read or write.  Together with his brother he helps other people by gathering fire wood to earn a little money for their most basic needs.

So when charity volunteer Valentina Feodorova arrives unannounced with a gift of food and clothes sponsored by Blythswood, it means a lot to him.  “Maxim really misses a mother’s support, care and affection,” Valentina says.  “When our team visited, he was at home and was very grateful for the help they received.  He was glad someone was interested in their lives.

“We pray for these two brothers and will continue to help them.  Thank you for your support.”
