Helping refugees as they pass through Moldova

A family of 11 from central Ukraine have found refuge in Moldova where they are surviving with support from Blythswood Care.

Ruslan and Stella with their children and grandchildren have been staying at Bethany Baptist Church in Chisinau since July.

“They had a good, peaceful life before the war,” says Dumitru Sevastian who serves as a pastor and attends to the welfare of refugees passing through his city. “They had their own home and jobs in Kryvyi Rih but when the war began there were constant explosions and life became unsafe. They were especially concerned for the children and when a shell hit a neighbour’s house they decided to leave.

“They have a close relative living in the USA and have applied for permission to go there. They are grateful to be able to stay with us while they wait for the documents. Here, they are safe, have a place to sleep, and are cared for, being provided with food and everything necessary for life. We are thankful to Blythswood Care for your support, which enables us to help refugees from Ukraine.”
