2024 was a difficult year for Jovana and her family. Being an oncology patient was hard enough but then she and her family lost their home and all their belongings in a fire. David Armus who runs Blythswood Serbia delivered shoeboxes to their temporary accommodation.

“Jovana is a great fighter,” David says. “She and her husband have six children, a daughter-in-law and a six-month-old grandchild, and they all live together.

“There was great joy when the young people received their gifts. The daughter-in-law received beautiful jewellery which brought a big smile to her face. The youngest son was delighted with toys and sweets, while the other really appreciated toiletries and warm clothes.

“Jovana is endlessly grateful for this moment of joy which your gifts brought to her family during their difficult time. They felt that they were not only receiving presents but also a message that someone cares for them, someone far away.”
